Trekking
Are you planning a holiday in Arco that will be devoted to trekking?
While staying at PACE 1954 Hotel you can easily book excursions and hikes around Garda Trentino at our reception desk.
In this enchanting region, you will find a vast number of trails for all levels, from the easiest, also suitable for families, to the most extreme, a challenge also for the most experienced hikers, pushing them to the limit of their abilities. Below are some of the most beautiful routes, classified according to their degree of difficulty.
Routes for everyone
Among the most beautiful and easy itineraries we recommend the Passeggiata del Ponale, an ancient footpath that served as a link between Riva del Garda and Valle di Ledro. Walking along it you can admire many beautiful views of the lake and there is no shortage for places to take a break, with refreshments and a stunning view. Following the path Busatte - Tempesta, is an easy panoramic route with steps anchored in the rock overhanging the lake that extends from north to south along the east coast of Lake Garda. While trekking on Monte Altissimo, known as the "Botanical Garden of Europe", you will be thrilled by the enchanting panorama that you can enjoy from its top. During this hike, you can admire protected species of alpine plants and flowers of rare beauty. The Sentiero delle Marocche is also particularly impressive, a route that crosses the Biotope of the Marocche di Dro, where you will find a very unique rocky landscape with fossilised dinosaur footprints that have been preserved in the rock for millions of years.More demanding routes
Among the routes of medium difficulty, we recommend a visit to the Bastion of Riva del Garda and the small church of Santa Barbara, two magnificent landmarks that can be seen along the same scenic route. An ancient bastion of the sixteenth century, first, and a place of prayer built in the '20s, second, which was built by the miners who dedicated the church to Santa Barbara, their patron saint. Not to be missed is a splendid path that leads from the village of Pregasina to Punta Larici, the most spectacular panoramic point on Lake Garda, where you can admire the beauty of the lake in its grandeur, whilst enjoying true mountain air at an altitude of 905 metres.Advanced routes
Among the routes only suited for the most expert, there is the trekking rout to Mount Colodri and Colt, a long trail that allows you to admire the beautiful landscape of Arco and its valley from above, facing many fun sections on a rocky path. While the two routes that lead to Cima Rocca and Cima Nodice are excellent test grounds for those who have made a lifestyle of trekking and hiking. Along these steep slopes, you will find the remains of trenches and tunnels dating back to World War I, a testament to the wars that took place in Trentino. Of course, there are also many splendid views of the lake and mountains.
Alternatively, if you want to have an adrenaline-pumping experience with your family, you can go to “River Trekking”, an outdoor amusement park with stone slides, small beaches and emerald pools. Here you can follow the Sarca River against the current, alternating between dives in beautiful natural basins and sliding among mosses and lichens along the waterway. Just ask at the reception, our staff will be happy to book your entry to "River Trekking" for you and your family.
